Your hitter should always be used with grinded herb for an even burn. Press the bowl against your grinded herb and pack it so that it's filled up to the edge of the bowl.

A clean hitter is a tasty hitter :) To clean the bowl first remove any remaining ashes. Then, using a cotton swab, scrub the bowl with alcohol or dish soap. Dip a pipe cleaner in alcohol or dish soap and scrub the inside of your hitter. Rinse with water and leave to dry. Do not leave you hitter soaking in isopropyl alcohol or scrub the exterior with harsh materials as this might compromise the pearled luster.
